Through narrative medicine I help people find the healing oasis of a new frame of mind. This is important for health care patients, care givers, veterans in transition, and others for whom relationships or situations are, or can sometimes be debilitating. Relational viewpoints found in art can stimulate new ways to think and share. Narrative medicine is a group facilitation that includes creative writing. My approach, as taught by the Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative in Seattle, WA, is a close reading / observation of art in many forms, such as poetry and visual art.
