Meiver De la Cruz (performer) is a PhD Candidate in Performance Studies at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL). She also holds a Master’s Degree in Gender and Cultural Studies. She has been involved in feminist activism and social justice work for many years, and is the co-author of a chapter, with Carol Gómez in “The Revolution Starts at Home: Confronting Intimate Violence Within Activist Communities” (South End Press, 2011). Meiver began studying dance in 1996, and teaching dance in 2002. She used dance in community organizing and empowerment work at Boston-based community organizations like the Hyde Square Task Force, Sociedad Latina, and MataHari: Eye of the Day
